  MASSAGE THERAPY

Massage Therapy is the manual manipulation of muscles and soft tissue by applying pressure to the body with the goal of positively affecting health and well being  of the patient.

Massage comes to us from many cultures and is perhaps the oldest method of natural healing.

The Benefits of Massage Therapy Include:

Massage is very effective in the relief of pain and discomfort, whether due to health issues or to chronic stress.

Massage can in some patients cause a decrease in blood pressure and heart rate due to reflex effects through the sympathetic nervous system.  Reflex effects include muscle relaxation, relief of spasms and cramps and increased range of motion.

_ Massage calms the nervous system.

_ The Lymphatic system  can be stimulated by massage. It can also strengthen the immune system.  As well as increase blood circulation.

_ Massage increases oxygenation to the tissues.
